How do I obtain a library card?

A photo ID is required to obtain a library card at no charge. Once an application is completed, your library card will be issued and may be used immediately.


How do I renew library materials?

Library materials check out for 2 weeks. Most items may be renewed.

Library materials may be placed on hold by calling the library at (910) 295-6022. Please have your library card number available, along with the title(s) of the items you wish to place on hold.


How do I replace a lost library card?

If your library card is lost or stolen, please notify the library as soon as possible.

Replacement cards are available at the library with a valid photo ID.


How do I receive email notifications?

The Given Memorial Library offers email notifications to remind patrons when materials are due or overdue. When a reserved book becomes available, you'll receive a phone call.


How do I access online resources?

With your Given Memorial Library card, you can access a variety of online resources, including eBooks, audiobooks, research databases, and other digital services.

Simply select the resource you would like to use and enter your library card number when prompted.

How do I request a Notary Service appointment?

The Given Memorial Library offers basic notary services by appointment.

A notary's responsibility is to verify the identity of the signer, ensure the signer is acting willingly and without coercion, and confirm that the signer understands the contents of the document.
