Helping Pinehurst Residents Age Well

The Senior Advisory Committee helps the Village of Pinehurst better understand and respond to the needs of residents age 55 and older. The Committee advises the Village Council and staff on issues affecting older adults and works to make Pinehurst an increasingly age-friendly community.

An age-friendly Pinehurst supports independence, safety, accessibility, healthy living, social connection, and meaningful participation at every stage of life. When a community works well for older adults, it generally works better for everyone.

About the Committee

The Senior Advisory Committee was established by the Pinehurst Village Council on February 24, 2026. Its members are Pinehurst residents age 55 and older who volunteer their time to identify concerns, share community perspectives, and recommend ways the Village can better serve its senior population.

The Committee’s work includes:

  • Serving as a link between senior residents and Village government
  • Identifying emerging needs, concerns, and opportunities
  • Supporting independent living, accessibility, and social engagement
  • Reviewing how Village facilities, parks, sidewalks, transportation, events, and communications serve older adults
  • Identifying physical, social, and informational barriers
  • Promoting intergenerational connections
  • Sharing useful information and educational resources
