The Village of Pinehurst is pleased to announce the appointment of the inaugural members of its Senior Advisory Committee, a new advisory body established by the Village Council to strengthen communication and engagement with Pinehurst’s older adult community.
Following a competitive application and interview process, nine residents have been selected to serve on the Committee. The group reflects a wide range of professional experience and community involvement, with backgrounds in healthcare, government, law, aging services, housing, and public service.
The inaugural members of the Senior Advisory Committee are:

Together, these members bring decades of leadership and service, along with valuable personal experience supporting and caring for older adults. Their perspectives will help ensure the Committee’s work is grounded in the needs and priorities of Pinehurst residents.
“This is a strong and thoughtful group that reflects the very best of our community,” said Councilmember Kevin Fitzpatrick. “Their experience and commitment will help guide meaningful conversations and support practical solutions as we continue working to make Pinehurst an intentionally age-friendly community.”
The Senior Advisory Committee will serve as a forum for ongoing, two-way communication between residents and Village leadership on issues important to older adults, including mobility, safety, accessibility, social connection, and access to information and services. The Committee will also provide input on policies and initiatives that support residents in aging safely, actively, and with dignity.
The creation of the Committee reflects the Village’s commitment to thoughtful, responsive governance. With more than half of Pinehurst’s population age 55 and older, this effort helps ensure the community continues to meet the needs of its residents now and into the future.
The Committee will meet on the first Monday of each month. Its first meeting will be held on Monday, May 4 at 3 p.m. in Assembly Hall at 395 Magnolia Road. Meetings are open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend.
