Library Needs Assessment Update
The Village of Pinehurst is in the process of assessing our community’s need for library services. As part of that process, in February 2020 the Village asked residents to provide feedback on what our community needs from its library. The results of the online survey have been posted on the Engage Pinehurst site, along with a summary.
The online survey results were segmented in the following ways to better understand the library needs of different types of residents:
- All Respondents
- Library Users / Non-Users
- Households With Children / Without Children
- Over Age 55 / Under Age 55
There are other key dates coming up in the library needs assessment process:
April 28: The Village’s library needs assessment consultant, LibraryIQ, will deliver the preliminary library services needs assessment report, which incorporates the online survey results, to Village Council at their meeting on April 28 at 4:30pm. Residents can watch the live stream of this meeting at www.vopnc.org/live. Public comments should be emailed to Village Clerk Beth Dunn at email@example.com.
May 15-June 15: ETC Institute, the Village’s annual Resident Survey provider, will mail a second library needs assessment survey to a representative sample of 400 Pinehurst households to test the findings of the preliminary library needs assessment. During this period, survey results will be collected and analyzed.
July 14: LibraryIQ will present the final report of their findings and recommendations to the Village Council at their 4:30pm meeting.
We appreciate the nearly 400 residents who participated in the library assessment online survey, as well as those residents who attended the public input workshops and participated in the Community Conversations, in February. Your feedback is invaluable to this process. Be sure to visit Engage Pinehurst to stay updated on the library needs assessment process.
