John R. Cashion was born in Dallas, Texas and is a graduate of SMU with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He was employed by Mobil Oil Corporation for over 30 years and has experience in the financial/controller functions, supply/distribution operations and information technology. During his career he held various management and leadership positions in Dallas, New York, Fairfax, VA and Houston.

Mr. Cashion’s prior community/municipal experience includes a publicly elected Councilman in a Dallas County suburb, Chairman of the Urban Renewal Historical District Committee for a community in Texas, and member of a special task force for the Virginia United Methodist Retirement Homes which evaluated the spending and procurement of services for six retirement facilities.

Since moving to Pinehurst, Mr. Cashion has served on the Pinewild Country Club Advisory Board for 2 years, with one year as President, and the Pinewild Property Owners Association Board for 5 years, twice serving as their president and serving five months as the interim community manager during the Board’s search for a permanent manager. He is a member of the Pinehurst Civic Group and the Moore County Republican Men’s Club. 

John and his wife, Jan moved from Oakton, Virginia to Pinehurst in 2000 after their retirement. They are active members of the Pinehurst United Methodist Church.
