Nancy Roy Fiorillo was born in Massachusetts but has lived in the South for over 40 years. A resident of Pinehurst since 1997, Fiorillo retired in 2005 from a 21 year career in North Carolina State and Local Government.

During her career, she held positions as Emergency Medical Services Planner with the Mid-Carolina Council of Governments, Community Planner for the NC Department of Commerce, Planning Director for Moore County as well as Director of Planning and Inspections for Cumberland County. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Welfare and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from NC State University. Fiorillo taught as an adjunct professor in the Political Science Department at Methodist University from 1995 – 1997, and earned the National Certification in Planning (AICP) in 1999.

Since her retirement she has served on the Board of Directors of the Pinehurst Civic Group, was a member of the Small Area “A” Planning Committee and Chaired the Moore County Planning Board. She is a member of the St. Joseph of the Pines Guild and both the Moore Republican Women’s and Men’s Clubs. Fiorillo currently serves on the Planning and Environment Legislative Committee of the NC League of Municipalities and is a graduate of the Moore County Leadership Institute.

Nancy and her husband Ray owned and operated the Sandhills Bridge Studio from 2002 – 2007. They continue to play bridge locally, in tournaments, and travel and teach duplicate bridge on cruise ships.

Nancy and her husband are members of Community Presbyterian Church.
