Golden RetrieverThe Village of Pinehurst encourages its residents to be responsible pet owners, which includes getting a microchip for your pet, keeping your pets on a leash, and cleaning up waste from your pet.

Regulations of animals in Pinehurst are governed by the Moore County Animal Operations Ordinance and sections of the Pinehurst Municipal Code, which are included below:

      91.01   County animal control ordinance adopted by reference
      91.02   Dogs running at large; public nuisance
      91.03   Bird sanctuary
      91.04   Feeding of wild animals prohibited

Report a Dead Animal

To report a dead animal on Village streets or right of ways, please complete the form below.  Dead animals on state maintained roads (Hwy 5, Hwy 211, Linden Road, Hwy 2/Midland Road, Morganton Road, and Page Road) should be directed to the NC Department of Transportation at 910-947-2233.
