Location is one of the Village's greatest assets.

Pinehurst is centrally located in the Sandhills Region of North Carolina, providing quick and easy access to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains to the west and hundreds of miles of pristine, white, sandy beaches to the east.

Downtown Raleigh

The state capitol of Raleigh is a short one hour drive away.  There you will find an international airport, Raleigh-Durham International (RDU), where you can fly to over 45 nonstop destinations on one of over 400 daily flights. Regarded as the “Smithsonian of the South,” Raleigh offers three major museums: the NC Museum of Art, the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, and the Marbles Kids Museum.  In addition, the city is home to the NC Symphony, the NC Opera, the NC Ballet, and the NC Theater. In nearby Research Triangle Park, there are three major universities: The University of North Carolina, NC State University, and Duke University.

Pinehurst residents can easily enjoy access to plentiful urban amenities, while living in a more serene rural area.  Classified as a ‘Micropolitan,’ the Pinehurst-Southern Pines area is a distinct economic hub delineated by the US Office of Management and Budget (OMB).  Micropolitans contain an urban core of at least 10,000, but less than 50,000, population.  In 2016, the Pinehurst-Southern Pines Micropolitan Area was ranked #2 in the state of North Carolina for its economic strength by POLICOM Corporation.

Bragg solidersLess than 40 miles away in Fayetteville, NC is nearby Fort Bragg, a United States Army installation.  Fort Bragg is the largest military base in the world (by population) with more than 50,000 active duty personnel and covering more than 251 square miles.  It is the home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces.  Fort Bragg personnel often choose to live in Pinehurst due to the unmatched high quality of life it provides, with just a short commute to the base.
