The Moore County Tax Department handles all assessment, valuation, billing and collection of property taxes for the Village of Pinehurst. The Village of Pinehurst administers one assessment, Municipal Service District. The Municipal Service District (MSD) Assessment resulted from the improvements made to the earthen dam around Pond #1 in Fiscal Year 2006-07. The assessments are billed in January to the residents of the MSD over a 15 year period, with the last installment being billed January 1, 2021.
