Co-sponsored with the Pinehurst Elementary School, this event is open for the entire family to celebrate Halloween. The festivities will include games with prizes, face painting, train ride, bouncy houses, Costume Contests for all ages, and more! So put on your best costume and join us for the FUN. Activity wristbands will be sold by Pinehurst Elementary School PTA for $12.

This scarecrow design contest is open to individuals, families, and organizations. A celebration of Fall with Scarecrows on display at the Village Arboretum Oct. 25th -Nov. 8th. Join the Fun- create and enter your Scarecrow in the contest! The community will have an opportunity to vote for the “Best Scarecrow”. Winners will be announced on Oct. 31 and prizes will be awarded. The Beautification Committee serves as an advisory committee to the Village Council for the purpose of enhancing the appearance of the Village Center and surrounding residential areas. The Committee also assists the Public Services Department in beautifying key intersections and street corners in and near the Village Center.

The Community Appearance Commission (CAC) reviews and makes recommendations regarding plans for single family homes and fences. In reviewing these requests, the Commission works with the builder to ensure that both site and building design are appropriate for Pinehurst and will enhance the Village. The Planning and Zoning Board (P&Z) reviews all amendments to the Pinehurst Development Ordinance, all proposed rezoning of property under the Pinehurst Development Ordinance, all proposed master land use plans for planned developments, all proposed major preliminary plats of subdivision, and all proposed major site plans, and make recommendations to the Village Council for final action. The Conservation Commission was formed in 2003 as part of the Village’s Comprehensive Long-Range Plan to meet the conservation goals of Pinehurst. Since the Conservation Commission was established, it has become a large entity with six committees and many members. The Village Center Enhancement Committee serves as an advisory committee to the Village Council for the purpose of formulating actionable recommendations designed to enhance the health and vibrancy of the Village Center. The Committee works cooperatively with and establishes liaisons with business and property owners in the Village Center. The Committee also assists with the implementation of tasks and programs from the 2010 Comprehensive Long Range Plan that relate to the Village Center.
