PINEHURST TRIATHLON The Annual Pinehurst Triathlon is scheduled for Saturday, October 4 at 8:00am.  This event will include a 1500 meter swim, 30 mile bicycle ride, and a 10k run.  The event will begin at the Pinehurst Marina and space is limited.  For more information visit Set Up Events at www.setupevents.com.

The Beautification Committee serves as an advisory committee to the Village Council for the purpose of enhancing the appearance of the Village Center and surrounding residential areas. The Committee also assists the Public Services Department in beautifying key intersections and street corners in and near the Village Center.

The Community Appearance Commission (CAC) reviews and makes recommendations regarding plans for single family homes and fences. In reviewing these requests, the Commission works with the builder to ensure that both site and building design are appropriate for Pinehurst and will enhance the Village. Pinehurst Live after 5   A Free Music Event in the Village Center featuring "Loaded Dice". Food and beverages will be available for purchase on site. Cannon Park (map)
This 5k walk will start at Cannon Park and benefit Kidney Cancer Awareness. The registration fee is $25. Late registration will be accepted the morning of at 7:30 a.m., but this will not guarantee a goodie bag. Registration forms can be obtained at www.fobees.org. The Pinehurst Conservation Commission will be holding a Permaculture: Solutions for Livable Environments workshop on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 10:30 am - Noon at the Village Hall. Glenn Bradley, local landscape designer, will discuss permaculture garden design principles, Edible Forest Gardens in the Sandhills and recommend plants that will successfully grow in our Sandhills environment. Bring your blankets, lawns chairs, and picnic baskets and enjoy a free family movie at the Village Arboretum. Face painting and games will kick off an hour before the movie starts. Drinks, popcorn, and candy will be sold by the WestPine Elementary School PTA. Film: To be Announced

Holly Arts & Crafts Festival Saturday, October 18; 10 a.m.-4:00 p.m. This Annual Festival combines the talents of over 100 hand-crafters in a variety of genres - from woodworking to glass, stitched art to lawn ornaments, hand-crafted jewelry to metal sculpture. Downtown shops offer sales and specials and a food court will have a variety of offerings. The Village Center Enhancement Committee serves as an advisory committee to the Village Council for the purpose of formulating actionable recommendations designed to enhance the health and vibrancy of the Village Center. The Committee works cooperatively with and establishes liaisons with business and property owners in the Village Center. The Committee also assists with the implementation of tasks and programs from the 2010 Comprehensive Long Range Plan that relate to the Village Center.
