A piece of Pinehurst history was returned to us on March 24, 2010 when an antique dealer from Landis, NC returned our fire engine that was used in the Village from October 1937 until May 1973. Though it was kept in a garage, there is an estimated $25,000 worth of restoration that is needed to bring this fire engine back to its proud history.
The restored fire engine will be used for public education projects, exhibits and civic events. A fund has been set up to help restore a piece of our history.
