History, Charm and Southern Hospitality
The Village of Pinehurst, like other governments keeps a record of unclaimed money it is holding that belongs to individuals. The Village wants to return this money to their rightful owners. Unclaimed money could include deposits made to the Village or checks written for goods and services received that never cleared our bank account. State law requires local governments to turn over unclaimed money to the state after a specified period of time. The state has no time limit for filing claims. It holds unclaimed money in trust for the rightful owners forever. Visit the state's Unclaimed Property Program web site for additional information.
