Bluebirds in the Sandhills

Along the Pinehurst Greenway and throughout many of the Village parks, bluebird houses have been set up to encourage the nesting of blue birds in our public areas. Our Committee will be working with trained volunteers to monitor these bluebird houses. Helen Munro is heading this project. The greenway map at right indicates the location of birdhouses that are being monitored.

We will also be working to get guidelines from the NC Bluebird Society for attracting and protecting bluebirds out to the public. Our goal is to encourage residents throughout Pinehurst to set up bluebird houses in their own backyards.
